The campground has it's pros and cons. We had a medium tent and since we were the only ones with a tent, when we arrived, we could put it on the only even spot in the tent area. The rest is rather sloping. The sandy ground is ideal when it pours, it never was muddy. There is only a very small shop 500m away, and a few pubs and restaurants. Facilities were sparkling, the showers were nice and warm, the staff very friendly and helpful. In the kitchen there is a table and three cooking facilities. No pots or pans or other cooking devices. I found the price a bit high. 2 persons with one medium tent and a car cost 20 Eur. Same tent with only one person and no car ist still 19 Eur. Showers (5 min), cooking (20 min), washing mashine and dryer (30 min), internet (20 min) each cost 1 EUR. WLAN would be nice. With a tent you have to go to the reception every morning an pay for another day. The reason seems to be, that campers sometimes leave earlier than intended because of the strong winds that can blow there and the campground is quite exposed.

Relaxing time at Rosses Point
Review of Customer from Munster / Ireland, June 2009
Language of the review:
Review is based on the year: 2009
When I stayed in the campsite, it was very quiet and relaxing, but I would imagine that when schools close for the summer months it would be a bit busier and more noisey. The showers and toilets were spotlessly clean and the shower water was just right! (I find sometimes that the water is either too hot or too cold in some campsites). There are some lovely walks along the waterfront and across the beach. The beach itself was clean and rubbish free and there seemed to be two guys checking these areas daily. For anyone interested in water sports, it is an ideal place for windsurfing and kayaking. The only fault I would find with the village is the lack of shops for basics like fresh meat and general groceries. There is one shop, but the selection wasn't great. And on the campsite itself, the children's play area didn't look enticing. However I don't have any young children so I would go back there again.
