Lage in südlichem Vorort von London, Anreise mit Gespann trotz engl.Verkehrsverhältnisse ohne Komplikationen. Sehr ruhig gelegen - ideale Anbindung an öffentl.Nahverkehr für Sightseeing in London (Bus/S-Bahn).
Auf dem Platz selbst keine Sport-/Spielanlagen, der riesige unmittelbar angrenzende Park und als Ausgangsstandort für London-Besucher rechtfertigt dennoch die o.g. Bewertung unter "Freizeit"
Sehr nette Rezeption, Reservierung ist empfehlenswert - hier ohne die in England oft übliche Vorauszahlung!!! Auch für Nichtmitglieder im engl.CaravanClub offen.

wir waren während unserer Englandreise vier Tage in London.Unangemeldet sind wir am campingplatz angekommen,und wurden sofort eingeladen obwohl der Platz ausgebucht war.Am nächsten Tag sind wir dann umgezogen,und hatten eine gute Zeit.Die Sanitäranlagen und das gesamte Angebot eines Campingplatzes waren super Empfehlenswert.Auch die Busverbindungen in die City usw sind sehr gut.Vom Team des Campingplatzes wurden wir gut eingewiesen um preisgünstig durch London zu fahren.Auch ein tolles Pub und diverse Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind in der Nähe.Also rundum Super. It's a good place to visit London.
You take the bus just outside and after 3 minutes you are in the center of London. And you can take it even in the night.
I was on holidays with my soon (11 years old) and his cousin (19 years old).
Have fun and good time.

Non abbiamo potuto prenotare,non ce lo hanno permesso,quando siamo arrivati ci hanno dato un piccolo spazio in discesa. A noi è andato bene,dovevamo solo dormirci. La posizione è ottima x visitare Londra,con un bus si va direttamente in Trafalgar Square. Staff gentile e abbastanza disponibile,servizi drammaticamente troppo pochi , se pure ben tenuti. Niente bar,negozio e quantaltro ci aspettiamo (in Italia) da un campeggio.

Wir wurden bei der Anreise freundlich empfangen und in die Gegebenheiten eingewiesen. Der Stellplatz war für unseren T4 Multivan mehr als großzügig bemessen und mit einem Stromanschluss versehen. Frisch- und Abwasser Ver- bzw. Entsorgung waren in etwa 100 Meter Entfernung beim Waschhaus. Die Toiletten und Duschen waren sauber und in einem guten Allgemeinzustand. Es gibt behindertengerechte Toiletten / Duschen sowie eine Waschmaschine und einen Trockner.
Donnerstags abends kommt der Fish & Chips - Wagen, der für £ 5,50 Eine gute und leckere Portion anbietet.
Der Platz ist verkehrsgünsig gelegen. Mit anderen Worten: er liegt an einer viel befahrenen Straße sowie in einer Einflugschneise. Wir haben den Lärm nachts nicht wahrgenommen, da der Platz von Bäumen umgeben ist und der Fluglärm abnimmt. Tagsüber war uns Lärm egal, da wir ohnehin von 8 Uhr bis in die Nacht in der Stadt unterwegs waren. Hier liegt das größte Plus des Platzes: In unmittelbarer Nähe gibt es Bushaltestellen, von denen aus man bis zum Oxford Circus oder auch nach Greenwich fahren kann. Bis Whitehall dauert die Fahrt mit der Linie 3 etwa 30 Minuten, Oxford Circus ist in 45 Minuten zu erreichen. Vorausgesetzt, man fährt vor 8:30 Uhr ab.
Auf dem Platz gibt es auch die Möglichkeit der Internetnutzung via WiFi, £ 5,00 für 5 Stunden oder £ 15,00 für 20 Stunden. Über DVB-T sind 69 Sender zu empfangen, die Versorgung mit aktuellen Nachrichten ist also gesichert.
Wissenswert: Für Nicht-Mitglieder des Caravan Club UK wird derzeit pro Nacht eine Gebühr von £ 8,00 erhoben. Ab 6 Übernachtungen lohnt sich also eine Mitgliedschaft.
Mein Fazit: Wer sich nicht an der Lage stört und wem die negativen Aspekte nichts ausmachen, der ist auf diesem Platz sehr gut bedient. Ich habe es jedenfalls als ruhiger empfunden, als das Hotel in der Innenstadt von London, in dem ich während meines ersten Londonaufenthaltes genächtigt habe. Excursion tips: LONDON, was sonst?

We stayed at the Abbey wood site. It was about a thirty minute train ride from the city, so not the closest, but definately close enough. The site was very clean and secure, we left our bags in our tent. There was hot water, the showers were free, bathrooms were clean. Camping was the best decision we made about the vacation, we saved alot of money. We could come and go as we please and it was just comfortable.

The bathrooms are a bit older, but very clean and with atmosphere.
45 minutes by bus to Big Ben was ok It was on the vehicle's always something to see and be amazed ... or just to take a nap. Sandwiches and snacks, you could buy in the near vicinity. Close proximity to a beautiful park with maze.

We stopped at Crystal Palace
from December 28 to January 4. The staff is friendly and helpful, the campground is very clean. Central London is easily reached by bus which stops outside propio, buses ran regularly on Sundays and New Year's Eve. I recommend it highly for that must go to London. I hope to return soon

Crystal Palace Caravan Club Site is a great campground. The location is good, about 30-40 minutes from downtown, raggiungilbile by bus + metro. The area is quiet and the night is quiet. And 'situated next to a huge park (it's good for owners of dogs) The camp is clean, the services always in order for the camper and access to water and waste is great. The staff is exceptional, very helpful, providing you with all information useful for the stay in London. I have only one regret: not having to try their fish and chips! for this I hope to return next year!
I recommend everyone to book before you go, even to get discounts.

I can not give an assessment of the camp because I was there. I write to point out that July 31, 2008 at 11 am we arrived at the Crystal Palace Caravan Club Site, and although there were many vacancies there are because we had not accepted the reservation.
My crew consisted of me and my husband (both teachers) and my college student son of 21. Before leaving I visited the site of the camp where it does not say that the reservation is mandatory. I wish I had a reason and an answer. We are very angry !!!!!

The Crystal Palace Caravan Club camp site was a very good choice. The proximity to the City of London and its attractions is a great advantage. The place is clean and maintained. The sanitary facilities clean, well maintained and spacious. Also at the front desk, we were well received.
The camp is highly recommended.
The only that could possibly complain about is that of the visitors with a more detailed directions in a better position to find the place. Had we had no navigation system, we would have big problems to find the place ..

The place is situated in the south of London, about 14 km from the center. By bus, 300 meters from the resort leaves, you can comfortably without having to change in about 40 minutes, for example, to go to Trafalgar Square. We were amazed at how quiet the place despite its location was in London. Everything very clean! Friendly reception! The place was probably not easy to find. A great help when searching is, however, the big radio tower, which is one of the highest points in London is located. He is visible from afar and is adjacent to the resort. The tower of Crystal Palace also knows each of the passers-by, you can possibly ask for! If we once again with the caravan ride to London, we will in any case back to this place go!

Goods in September 2007 on the court.
The staff was very friendly and very clean hilfsbereit.Die plant and in the bottom strand also quiet.
Unfortunately, only a very small subset of the tents is tilted, so no flat pitch.
Furthermore, the tent is located directly on a day and night busy and very noisy street.
The Department for caravans and motorhomes is further away from the road and can therefore be recommended.

Camping to feel at ease

We travelled as a family with 2 kids (13/15) and had a wonderful quiet sunny carport for our Caravan and VW-Bus. The inner city was easy to reach with a double-decker (40 minutes to Oxford Circus). Bus tickets are available at the reception; the bus stop is just around the corner. After the city, it is quite relaxing to come back to the camping site. It is recommendable to book in advance. One disadvantage is the closing time of the reception at 8, so one has to sleep in front of the camping site, when arriving later (very loud, because right next to the street).
