good clean facilities, very nice pool, heated, sanitary facilities near, maintained and sufficient mobile home is very small and narrow, all you need there, but very purist, we would be back there on holiday, but with three children it is very cramped.

2 stars disguised as 4 stars

We normally camp with our own tent, last year we visited a 2 stars campsite in Frejus. This year however we wanted more luxury, so we booked mobile homes. The first place we went in France was l'Ardechois a campsite with 4 stars next to the Ardeche river, a fantastic place with climatised mobilehome 3 bedplaces in one sleeping room (fits to us as we have 3 children) the terasse was covered to protect from sunlight in complete length of mobilehome and the place was perfectly kept, flowers, grass and trees included. Svimmingpool was excellent too and very short to the river that was a perfect cooler in 32 degrees celcius. Leaving for Bonporteau after a week was exiting as we were looking forward to swim in the Sea and discover the fantastic under water life. Getting there we drove a long trip across mount Ventoux arriving late to campsite Bonporteau. Though arriving late we were gettingt a nice and flexible welcome. We were shown to our mobilehome no. 33 that was placed behind another one with only a small entrance between mobile home and bushes. The car we had to park in front of the other mobilehome walking the long way to ours. When the man from the campsite opened the mobilehome it was extremely hot inside, showing that no one had tried to protect the mobilehome from the heat by pulling the curtains and opening the windows. The first night was a nigthmare, the heat in the mobilehome was bordering all 5 of us and we had a very had time getting a decent sleep. Next morning we understood why, the mobilehome was placed in the direct sunlight from 8.30 to 18, which made it impossible to stay at the terasse or in the mobilehome during this period (a bit like camping with own tenth). For breakfast we moved table from the terasse to the "backyard" of the other mobilehome, placing one of us direct beneath their open window. Our "frontyard" was caracterized by wild growing weeds (like the entrance of the campsite) the parasol combined with parasol feet was a laugh, the feet was to light and could not keep the parasol in place (we tried to fill it up with water but unfortunately it was leaking). In the evening we were able to move the table back to the terasse which turned out to be to small, making it hard to place the table decently for 5 persons and also being able to close mobilehome door. The very bad quality of outside table and chairs which in many cases means (for sure in this one) they are very light made it easy to move around every morning and evening. The shower in the mobilehome had so little waterpressure so that 2 of us chose to use the common bathing rooms on the campsite. We had 2 bedrooms with 2 sleeping places and the fifth one was in the kitchen/living room sleeping there was like taking the big examin as fakir, I was taking the punishment to spare my children from this experience (unfortunately I was awake every night with one side very tired or convulsions in my buttocks). We used the available fan (our mini windmill) during all day to make the air moving inside the mobilehome we pulled the curtains and had all windows open to make it tolerable to stay there during night. During the day we were at the beach which was lovely and pretty close to the campsite though having to walk uphill when walking home, but for this we were prepared. Honestly we were ready to leave after 1st night, contacting the director of the campsite who made it clear for us that the conditions of the mobilehome and surroundings were normal and that we had to pay full fee even when leaving, no deal possible. As the price per week is in the highend we chose to stay and only left one day earlier. My rating for this campsite will never be 4 stars, the 2 stars campsite we stayed on last year was better in all means (I do not care about animation), and here I am comparing tenth pitch with mobilehome. The surroundings at Bonporteau camping site are miserable (looks like they do not care) and the mobilehome is poor and useless extra cost when hot like hells kitchen.

Exaggerated 4 stars

The only decent attraction is the swimming pool, excellent for children. For the rest, the camp is very shabby, dirty, some bungalows (my example, No. 15, do not take) in full sunlight, with the outdoor wood but without coverage (except for an umbrella constipated and soiling). It would be a discreet 2 stars. The 4 stars are justified only by the price. Bonporteau The beach is pretty, but to get there ... you need to travel 200 meters in altitude! The beaches of Cavalaire are perfect for children (and low sloping sandy bottom). Excursion tips: Gassin
