Holidays for possible Kotverschmutztem Srellplatz
Rating of Doris / Wolfgang from Koblenz / Rhineland-Palatinate / Germany, September 2010
Language of the Rating:
Travel date: August 2010
Age:
70+ years
Length of stay:
4-7 Days
Type of accommodation:
Caravan (personal)
Booking:
No previous booking
No house or the camping, either in the notice issued yet. Dogs were running free Stellpläzen, complaints were dismissed and referred to the Government as owner. Plant very restless: no order, no rest, railway noise, camper as noise polluters with recreational craft. Platzzanlage very closely. Pitch approaches very closely. Water points, very few. Very few drains, (Srassengulli `s).

Awful camping site very unfriendly

Immediately upon arrival the site personnel tried to put us onto a pitch already occupied by a Dutch couple. After pointing this out the staff decided to "do us a favour" by allowing us to put our tent on a different pitch and park our car on the one occupied by the Dutch. The one given to us was the access path to the river.... very busy. Pitches are very uneven and bumpy/stoney. The awful bearded characer working behind the bar on the campsite was the most arrogant, ignorant German I have ever met. When I asked for a breakfast for my son and I, this horrible man cursed, moaned to his German mates with whom he was drinking, told it was all too difficult as I had not pre-booked, and informed me that if I wanted anything I would have to wait at least 40 minutes. (for two bread rolls and two cups of coffee). I told him i'd rather buy rolls elsewhere, and did so at much cheaper prices. The campsite is close to cochem (10 minutes walk), but the whole camping experience was ruined by the unfriendly staff. The "long term" permanent camping fixtures (mostly occupied by Germans) are surrounded by wooden fences and barriers. Where we were pitched was directly in line with one of the permanent residents satelite dishes, needles to say everytime we stood up it interfered with our neighbours reception, this also caused some arguments. I would strongly advise against visiting this site. Awful. Excursion tips: The moselbad is very nice though water temperature is cold

Great Campsite in Cochem
Rating of Customer from Berwick upon Tweed / North East England / United Kingdom, August 2008
Language of the Rating:
Rating is based on the year: 2008
This is a great campsite right on the river Mosel within an easy walk of the town centre. Behind the campsite up the hill a little is a public swimming pool and an ALDI and another supermarket called REWE XL . During August the campsite is predominately occupied by the Dutch . In the little campsite bar they serve good beer and fairly cheap too. In the morning they do a great breakfast for 4 euros (2008 price ) . The campsite personnel are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this site very highly .
